Global Chic

Hey everyone!

It’s Khloe here with a Spring 2008 Trend Report. I’m here to bring you the latest tips on rocking a hot new spring trend: global chic. Now call me bias because of my Nigerian heritage, but this African-inspired look is undoubtedly my favorite of what the season has brought forth. Top designers such Diane von Furstenberg , Oscar de la Renta , and Derek Lam are having a “global impact” on fashion, making this look one to die for! Inspired by African safaris, wildlife, and tribes, the bold, cultural prints will really have you standing out of the crowd.

The key to rocking this look is:

· Wear it with minimal accessories—one or two pieces will take you a long way. You want the main focus of your ensemble to be the printed garment.
· Play up the ethnic vibe with a couple of wooden cuffs or gold bangles. Tribal accessories are also hitting the catwalks and impacting the costume jewelry in a bigger and more fabulous way: try semiprecious stones and encrusted metal bangles.

· Pull your hair back into a classic, chic style and keep the amount of makeup worn to a subtle amount so that you look fresh, fierce, and fabulous!

· And even though the focus is the clothing, we can’t forget to keep your feet looking fashionable! Try dressing it up with a gladiator heel or dressing it down with a strappy sandal.
